The Faculty of Education proudly congratulates Angel Mariton R. Manalili of the Bachelor of Education Studies (BES) program on her election as the 43rd UP Student Regent. Student Regent Manalili marks a historic milestone as the first UP Student Regent from UP Open University, bringing the voice of open and distance learning students and emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and representation.
Following the extensive deliberations during the 61st General Assembly of Student Councils held on 9 August 2026 in UP Mindanao, Student Regent Manalili will serve for one year as the sole student representative in the Board of Regents, speaking on behalf of more than 65,000 students across the UP System.
Student Regent Manalili vows to serve as the voice of students across all UP constituents, upholding the duty to continuously advance the concerns of the student sector, with a commitment to student democratic rights extending from the university to the community.
Guided by her commitment to the student sector as she takes on this role, Student Regent Manalili shares:
“Ang mukha ng ika-43 Rehente ng mga Mag-aaral sa UP ay ang mukha ng 65,000 iskolar ng bayan, Mula Cordillera hanggang Mindanao, na patuloy na nagmamahal sa kanyang bayan at nakikibaka para sa pagpapalaya nito. Kasama ang unibersidad ng sambayanan, tayo ay patuloy na babalikwas at mapangahas na lalaban para sa ating demokratikong karapatan, sa loob o labas man ng pamantasan.“
