As part of the prelude to the University’s 28th Commencement Exercises, the Faculty of Education (FEd) proudly celebrated its achievements and honored the remarkable accomplishments of its graduates through the FEd Recognition Rites and Fellowship 2024. This significant occasion was held last 6 December 2024 (Friday), 10:00 AM at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning (CCDL) Auditorium, UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna. Out of 152 graduates, 73 attended the event from the different programs.
The FEd Dean, Dr. Charisse T. Reyes warmly welcomed the graduates and guests which set the stage for the meaningful proceedings ahead.
Following this, Dr. Jonathan M. Barcelo, an alumnus of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education program, delivered an inspirational message, offering valuable reflections and insights to encourage the graduates as they embark on their future endeavors.
The ceremony’s highlight was the recognition of graduates for their outstanding achievements, in which certificates of program completion were presented and medals and/or pins were awarded to those with special distinctions. These consisted of Latin honors for academic excellence, recognition for inclusion in the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List, and commendations for graduates who exhibited exemplary service as Pahinungód Volunteers.
The undergraduate and graduate representatives, Mr. Ruel G. Demain, a graduate of the Bachelor of Education Studies (BES) program, and Dr. Bayani T. Vicencio, a graduate of the PhD in Education program, respectively, both took the stage to share their inspiring words, reflecting on their journeys, the challenges they faced, and the lessons they learned throughout their academic experiences:
Afterward, Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), delivered a congratulatory message where he commended the graduates for their dedication and achievements. Asst. Prof. Roja L. Rivera, FEd Faculty Secretary, closed the ceremony with warm congratulations and encouraged the graduates to carry the values and lessons they have learned into their future endeavors.
