UPOU Alumnus Dr. Justine Uro Places Fifth in the March 2022 LET
Dr. Justine Leon Uro, an alumnus of UPOU’s Doctor of Philosophy in Education program, placed fifth in the March 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) for the secondary level. He was one of the three UPOU alumni, along with three students who completed the Professional Teaching Certificate (PTC) in UPOU, who took and passed the LET last March 2022.
The third batch of LET 2021-2022 was conducted on March 27, 2022 in 28 testing centers located all over the Philippines. When the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) board released the list of passers in their website on April 29, 2022, Dr. Uro revealed that he felt elated, lucky, and relieved. Initially scheduled to take the LET on March 30, 2020, Dr. Uro had to wait for two years to take the board exam because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although Dr. Uro had to endure a prolonged delay to undertake the LET, he claims that UPOU and his experiences as a PhD in Education student has provided him with enough training in online learning and individualized instruction in order to stay prepared for his upcoming board exam. Among the lessons Dr. Uro acquired from his stay in UPOU, he says that the principles he learned about metacognition in a cognitive psychology course he took was especially helpful during the pandemic.
Dr. Uro also shares that his doctorate degree in Education has provided him with a substantial amount of learning materials that proved helpful in his preparation for the LET. He adds that the mindset he honed as a PhD student aided him to have the right mentality as the LET approaches.
Dr. Uro dedicates his top-place finish in the March 2022 LET to God. He hopes that this achievement along with his studies in UPOU will contribute to his continued success as a teacher-researcher-educator and a lifelong learner.
The Faculty of Education congratulates Dr. Justine Leon Uro for his outstanding achievement!
