The Faculty of Education (FEd) UP Open University will be holding the Recognition Rites and Fellowship program for the graduating class of 2019 on 11 October 2019, 10:00 AM at the Oblation Hall, UP Open University Headquarters, Los Banos, Laguna. 

One hundred nineteen (119) students will be receiving their certificates of degree completion from their respective programs, 37 for the undergraduate students and 82 for the graduate students. Two students of the Bachelor of Education Studies program will be graduating with Latin honors. These are Mr. Joey Ramirez, Magna cum laude and  Mr. Lexter Mangubat, Cum laude. For the graduate programs, Ms. Jean Christine Vela of the Diploma in Language and Literacy Education (DLLE) and Mr. Harmon Recopuerto of the Diploma in Social Studies Education (DSSE) are on the Chancellor’s List and Dean’s List respectively.

Dr. Janette Malata-Silva is invited to share an inspirational talk to the FEd graduates highlighting her journey as a distance education graduate. She finished her Master of Arts in Education (Language and Literacy Education) (MAEd-LLE) degree in 2011 at UPOU and is now currently teaching as an affiliate faculty of FEd. 

Induction of the new members of the Faculty of Education Alumni Association and a roundtable discussion (RTD) among the FEd alumni officers will be held right after the Recognition Rites at the same venue. 

The recognition program of the FEd along with the two faculty offices of UPOU is part of the pre-graduation activities for this year’s Commencement Exercises. The 23rd UPOU Commencement Exercises will be on 12 October 2019 at the UPOU Oblation Plaza, Los Baños, Laguna.
