The UPOU Faculty of Education (FEd) took another step towards a better education quality and access when it conducted its second Alumni Meeting last December 8, 2018, 11:30 a.m. at MC Theater, DICT Building, Diliman, Quezon City.  The Alumni Meeting and Kumustahan in the National Capital Region was the first activity held as part of the nationwide Alumni Caravan.

During the event, the alumni exchanged experiences on how the study program they took in UPOU helped them in their employment history, giving highlight to the experiences of students from the Diploma in Language and Literacy Education (DLLE) and Master of Distance Education (MDE) courses. They also shared updates regarding their current professions and how they are still able to use the skills and knowledge they obtained as a distance education learner to equip them in their chosen careers.

The alumni also gave their suggestions and remarks on how to improve the quality of distance education being offered in UPOU and how to strengthen the ties of the alumni of the Faculty of Education.

Assistant Professor Charisse Reyes and Assistant Professor Maria Rowena D.R. Raymundo facilitated the said discussion. A total of nine alumni from the NCR attended the said event. UPOU Alumni Foundation, Inc. (UPOUAFI) president Mr. Jerry Donato and FEd Faculty Office Alumni Chapter president Mr. Bienvenido Odejar also attended the Alumni Meeting and Kumustahan. 

The Faculty of Education’s Alumni Caravan is set to be continued in the first month of 2019 in four other locations including Baguio City, Camarines Sur, Leyte, and Bukidnon.
