Curious and excited, incoming UP Open University (UPOU) students attended the Faculty and Program Orientation last August 31, 2019 at the Audio-Visual Room of the UP Open University (UPOU) in Los Baños, Laguna.  The orientation aimed to provide the students with pertinent information that will help them in their Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL) journey. 

The Faculty of Education (FEd) Dean, Dr. Ricardo Bagarinao commenced the program with a warm welcome message. He encouraged the new students to keep their eyes on their goals and dreams despite the inevitable hardships and obstacles that they will be facing along the way. On the other hand, Dr. Maria Ana Quimbo, the newly appointed Faculty Secretary and Chair of the PhD in Education, introduced the members of FEd and discussed about the academic processes within the department.

The second half of the event was the program orientation. Each program was divided into afternoon break-out sessions. Asst. Prof. Ana Katrina Marcial headed the orientation for Diploma in Language and Literacy Education (DLLE) students, Asst. Prof. Roel Cantada for the Diploma in Social Studies Education (DSSE) students, and Ms. Rhonna Marie Vereña for the Professional Teaching Certification (PTC) students. Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Marie-Sol Hidalgo gave an online program orientation for Associate in Arts students.

The students also attended a Campus Tour and General Orientation Program organized by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) during the morning session at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning (CCDL) Auditorium, UPOU.
