The Faculty of Education (FEd) marked the significant milestone in celebration of UP Open University 31st Founding Anniversary with EduPerya, a carnival-themed educational fair held from 23-25 February 2026, 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the Multipurpose Hall, UPOU Headquarters. The event welcomed elementary, high school, and university students from both public and private educational institutions in nearby communities and districts, as well as homeschool-based learners, and UPOU faculty and staff, for a fun and meaningful learning experience.

EduPerya served as a vibrant celebration of UPOU’s enduring commitment to its mandate and core principles of advancing inclusive, equitable, and innovative education systems. Through this community-centered initiative, FEd underscored the vital role of education in fostering peace, social cohesion, and empowerment, while strengthening engagement with communities and stakeholders.

The event officially opened on 23 February 2026 with welcome remarks from UPOU Chancellor Joane V. Serrano who expressed enthusiasm to celebrate the 31st Founding Anniversary on the very same day. In her message, she highlighted UPOU’s continuing commitment to providing quality open and distance education for all, emphasizing the importance of initiatives like EduPerya in strengthening community partnerships and stakeholder engagement while inspiring the next generation of learners. FEd Dean Charisse T. Reyes, in her opening message emphasized the role of the event in reaching out to the community and reinforcing the University’s mission of making education accessible, engaging, and responsive to diverse learning communities.

EduPerya highlighted the diverse programs offered by FEd through creative, educational, and interactive booths, each designed to make learning both fun and accessible. Among these were AArtscade, representing the Associate in Arts program; The BES Booth, featuring the Bachelor of Education Studies and Associate of Science in Instructional Design and Technology programs; HEKASI at Iba Pa, showcasing the Diploma and Master of Social Sciences Education; PairPlay, highlighting the Diploma and Master of Language and Literacy Education as well as the Graduate Certificate and Master in Distance Education; Mathropolis and Science DSTrict for the Diploma in Mathematics Teaching, Diploma in Science Teaching and PhD in Education programs.
