The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Education (FEd) welcomed newly admitted students of its programs in the 1st Trimester and 1st Semester of Academic Year 2026-2027 during a student orientation held on 19 September 2026 at the International Convention Center (ICC), UPOU Headquarters and via Zoom. A total of 328 students attended the event, with 56 onsite participants and 272 online participants.
In her welcome message, Dean Charisse T. Reyes expressed the Faculty’s support for the students throughout their academic journey. Following this, they were introduced to the FEd faculty, staff, and program Faculties-In-Charge (FICs) and oriented on various academic policies and processes.
During the open forum, students raised questions and concerns, which were addressed onsite by Dean Reyes and online by Faculty Secretary Angel Mae O. Ombid. An engaging icebreaker activity also brought out the students’ acting skills and encouraged participation and interaction among attendees.
