FEd Research Framework
Collaborative Research Project Teams
EdTECH for a Transformative T&L
This research stream focuses on exploring design frameworks and pedagogical models and/or practices with and through educational technologies that personalize content, scaffold mastery, and foster deep engagement. The goal is to inform policy and practice for sustainable, equitable learning opportunities across diverse contexts.
Topics include investigating the role and practice of teachers as designers and examining how educators integrate collaborative digital tools, open educational resources, gamification of learning, and maker-centered approaches to co-create knowledge. This stream may also involve studies on professional development for digital fluency, curriculum innovation, and cross-disciplinary project-based learning that positions technology as a catalyst for reflective, inquiry-driven instruction, as well as equity-driven technologies bridging digital divides, empowering underrepresented learners, and guiding sustainable, inclusive policy.
Innovative STEAM for ALL
A forward-thinking approach to how Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) are taught and learned through emerging technologies and innovative methods. Guided by the principles of open and distance e-learning, we focus on empowering educators and learners by developing teaching and learning models that are accessible, open, and future-ready.
Critical Literacy Empowerment – Ethical Human-AI Engagements
This stream explores how learners and communities can move beyond passive consumption of GenAI to become active, critical co-creators, fostering mindsets that treat AI as a genuine collaborator and tools. It highlights research that empowers stakeholders—particularly marginalized groups—to navigate, contextualize, and reshape GenAI tools and systems that are increasingly transforming education.
Inclusive Learner Support for Resiliency in VUCA World
Research under this stream positions inclusivity as the foundation of resilience. This places emphasis on learner support systems that adapt to diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and ability contexts, ensuring no one is left behind during periods of growth and disruption. It could explore scalable mentoring networks, multilingual and indigenous learning communities, and flexible delivery modes that meet learners where they are—empowering them to thrive in unpredictable environments.
Constancy of Purpose in Researcher Devt & ED
This research stream encourages investigation of models, frameworks, and narratives that link identity, capability, and wellbeing to institutional excellence and societal relevance. The ultimate goal: to co‑create ecosystems where researchers are not only highly skilled but deeply grounded in who they are, resilient in the face of pressures, and empowered to make a difference.
Possible lines of inquiry include:
- Researcher Identity Development – how personal values, disciplinary cultures, and community engagement shape a researcher’s sense of self and belonging
- Skills Enhancement – adaptive, future‑oriented competencies for a rapidly changing research and educational landscape
- Well‑being and Resilience – strategies, policies, and cultures that enable researchers to flourish without sacrificing health, equity, or purpose
