Three faculty members of the Faculty of Education (FEd) received recognitions for their services rendered to the university for the last five years. The awardees were Assistant Professors Ana Katrina Marcial, Charisse Reyes, and Roja Rivera.The recognitions were given during the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) 24th Anniversary Celebration held on 01 March 2019 at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning Auditorium, UPOU, Los Baños, Laguna.
Asst. Prof. Marcial specializes in language teaching and learning and is involved in the development of learning materials. She is currently the Program Chair of the Diploma in Language and Literacy Education and Master of Arts in Language and Literacy Education Programs. She is also recently appointed as the Director of the Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services.
Asst. Prof. Reyes, a registered chemist and teaches science and chemistry course, serves as Faculty Secretary of FEd. She is also the coordinator of UPOU’s National Service Training Program and the Program Chair of Associate in Arts program.
Asst. Prof. Rivera, is a licensed professional teacher and had taught in the basic and tertiary education before becoming a full-time faculty member of UPOU. She currently serves as Program Chair of the Bachelor of Education Studies,
The UPOU Service Awards are given to employees as a recognition of their services rendered to the university. A total of 19 UPOU employees received service awards, some of them have been with the university for 10, 15, and 20 years.
